From the hotel the visitor has an excellent view of the varied
Asturian landscape. The fields and woods surrounding us stretch
out to the majestic range of the Picos de Europa on the horizon.
You can see picturesque villages, hamlets and farm houses.
Some selective examples of Roman architecture such as Santa
Eulalia de Abamia or the hermitage of Santa Eugenia are as
close as 100 metres from the hotel. The sanctuary of Covadonga
is a 10 minute journey by car while the Lakes (Los Lagos)
are about 30 kilometres away.
Cangas de Onís, the
old capital of the kingdom of Asturias, offers a wide range
of cultural and archeological sights including the Roman bridge,
which is the symbol of the town, the chapel of La Santa Cruz
and the Aula del Reino. There are also some places of great
ecological value nearby such as the nature reserve Park Natural
of Ponga or the basins of the Dobra and the Sella. The coast
of Llanes can be reached by car in about 20 minutes travelling
along a unique road crossing the mountain range of Cuera from
South to North. On a clear day you will also be able to enjoy
spectacular views of the nearby range of Sueve giving the
impression that the sea and Cantabrian mountains merge into
one.
